TABB, EVERGREENE & AGZA KICK OFF LITTLE LEAGUE SEASON AT THE NATION'S FIRST AGZA CERTIFIED SPORTS COMPLEX
Saturday, March 7th, 2015 was a perfect day ā our famous SoCal sun warmed the beautiful family-friendly community of Torrance, CA, and hundreds of excited young sluggers were uniformed up in red, white, and blue. Norman Rockwell couldn't have painted a more joyous and iconic American scene.
But the beauty of this thriving community is more than skin deep because months earlier, TABB had teamed up with Evergreene and AGZA to design a quieter, healthier, truly sustainable groundskeeping operation for the fields. As a result of this alliance, this grass, this air, this community are now free of the unnecessary toxins and pollutants that plague virtually every other grounds maintenance operation.
TABB President Joe Gaffney hosted the event, speaking to a crowd of parents in the stands and a sea of pony-leaguers listening from the outfield. Joe praised the great work Evergreene and AGZA are doing for the park and community, and then introduced Dan Mabe, Founder and President of AGZA.
Dan thanked Evergreen for having the vision and bravery to build the only 100% zero-emissions and AGZA certified commercial lawn care company in California. Dan then honored Joe and TABB for their cornerstone role in this groundbreaking project with a Certificate of Appreciation from AGZA.
Torrance Mayor Patrick J. Furey addressed the crowd and threw in the first pitch, and one lucky little leaguer got to run up to the mic and shout, "Play ball!"
EVERGREENE'S BAND OF BROTHERS DOES ZERO-EMISSION SUSTAINABLE LAWN CARE FROM THE GROUND UP.
We're so grateful for our Green Zone partnership with Evergreene Eco-Friendly Lawn Care.
The core of Evergreene's operation are a couple of Mean Green mowers, the most powerful commercial battery-electric lawn mowers on the planet. But Evergreene ā true to it's name ā is deeply dedication to sustainable practices throughout their operations, from organic fertilizers and pesticides to longer cut length and less frequent but deeper watering, which allows longer root growth and more naturally drought-resistant grass.
Evergreene Lawn Care and AGZA played a major role in procuring the green zone certification for TABB. By utilizing Evergreene, TABB will conserve approximately 75,000 lb. of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions every year.
āWe have made it our primary goal to reduce the carbon footprint of the lawn care industry without sacrificing quality. we want to make the South Bay a green community.ā
