AGZA Partners with Forward-Thinking Municipalities on Sustainable Landscape Solutions

Walking the walk with those who genuinely care about the workforce and future of our industry.

Montgomery and Delaware Counties – The American Green Zone Alliance (AGZA) recently partnered with several municipalities in Montgomery and Delaware Counties—the Township of Lower Merion, the Township of Haverford, Springfield Township, and the Borough of Narberth—to host a regional industry workshop focused on the transition to battery electric landscape maintenance equipment. The workshop showcased real-world case studies and introduced commercial-grade electric tools to professionals from both the public and private sectors.

Following the classroom session, AGZA Mid-Atlantic Representative Zack Kline proceeded to visit all the supporting manufacturers.

As concerns about noise pollution, air quality, and the daily impacts of gas-powered lawn equipment grow, a collaborative effort among municipalities, AGZA, nonprofit organizations, and equipment manufacturers are emerging to promote low-impact, sustainable alternatives.

The workshop was co-organized by Zack Kline, AGZA’s Mid-Atlantic representative, and Paloma Vila, Sustainability Manager for Lower Merion Township. Their leadership, along with contributions from neighboring municipalities, community organizations, and volunteers, helped make the event a success, from pre-event outreach to hands-on support during the workshop itself.

Thank you to STIHL, Makita, Greenworks, Husqvarna, and Kress for donating electric leaf blower kits for the raffle.

Special thanks to CADCO Distribution—Mean Green’s Northeast distributor—for spreading the word through social media and email campaigns. CADCO | Home

We are also deeply grateful to our AGZA AFTC-certified manufacturers for their ongoing support. Many provided live equipment demonstrations and generously donated blower kits as raffle prizes. Thank you to STIHL, Greenworks,Kress, Makita, Husqvarna, and Mean Green for your dedication to helping the industry make the transition to quieter, cleaner operations.

Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive. AGZA and the Lower Merion Township Department of Sustainability are already exploring opportunities to host a second workshop—either later this year or in early 2026.

Stay tuned!
